The story of Top Dog Racing and Cascade Innovations began more than three decades ago, long before the two companies shared a showroom, inventory, staff, or a website. Each company started with a different focus. Cascade Innovations built its name creating premium products for the Yamaha Banshee, while Top Dog Racing grew from a passion for working on ATVs and helping riders find the parts they needed. In 2017, those two stories came together. Today, Top Dog Racing and Cascade Innovations continue to operate as two brands under one roof, combining decades of experience, product development, mechanical knowledge, and a shared passion for the ATV industry.

Cascade Innovations was founded in 1989 with a focus on premium Yamaha Banshee parts and accessories. From the beginning, Cascade took a different approach to the Banshee market. The company became known for its high-end billet aluminum components, polished parts, and custom seat covers that allowed riders to make their machines stand apart. Over the years, Cascade Innovations developed a recognizable product line and established itself within the Banshee community. The combination of billet components, custom upholstery, unique bike builds and attention to detail became an important part of the Cascade name. Many of those original ideas and products remain part of the company today, while the lineup continues to grow and evolve for a new generation of riders.

Top Dog Racing began in 1990 as an ATV repair shop and aftermarket parts showroom, but the passion behind the business started much earlier. For Shawn, working with ATVs wasn't simply a career he happened to find. Since grade school, he knew he wanted to build his future around them. Although he spent years working professionally as a boat mechanic, his evenings and weekends were dedicated to ATVs. He worked on his own bikes, helped friends with theirs, and continued developing the hands-on mechanical knowledge that would later become an important part of Top Dog Racing. Then, in 1997, Shawn met Susan. Their relationship marked the beginning of more than a personal partnership—it became the foundation for a shared vision. Susan had recently founded her own ATV parts store, while Shawn brought years of mechanical experience to the table. Together, they realized that combining Susan's growing retail business with Shawn's knowledge of repairing, building, and working on ATVs could allow them to offer riders something unique. After marrying in 1999, Shawn and Susan combined their knowledge, skills, and shared passion for the ATV industry to continue growing Top Dog Racing. What began as a repair shop and parts showroom developed into something much larger—a place where riders could find parts, get help with their machines, and talk to people who genuinely understood the machines they were working on.

As Top Dog Racing grew, so did the family behind it. Shawn and Susan welcomed their daughter, Samantha, who was introduced to the ATV world from an early age. Growing up around the family business meant ATVs were simply part of everyday life. After years of riding and racing alongside her parents, Samantha officially joined the family business at just 15 years old. Over time, her responsibilities grew along with the company. Today, Samantha helps manage the company's website, ships orders to customers around the world, assists customers in the showroom, and plays an active role in the everyday operations of the business. What Shawn and Susan built together became a true family operation, with the next generation growing up within the industry and eventually helping carry the business forward.

A major new chapter began in 2017, when Top Dog Racing purchased Cascade Innovations. The acquisition brought together two companies that had each spent decades establishing their own place within the ATV industry. But taking ownership of Cascade Innovations wasn't simply about putting a new name behind the company. It was important to the family to understand what had made Cascade successful and preserve the knowledge, products, and processes that had been developed over the years. During the transition, Samantha trained under Chris, Tim, and Darcy at Cascade Innovations, learning the company from the people who knew its day-to-day operations best. She learned everything from packaging and shipping to website operations and the everyday processes required to keep Cascade Innovations running. That hands-on training helped preserve the knowledge behind the company while allowing Top Dog Racing and Cascade Innovations to gradually begin operating as one team. At the same time, Shawn turned his attention toward one of the most recognizable parts of Cascade Innovations: the billet product line. With decades of mechanical experience behind him, Shawn took over the design and development of Cascade Innovations' billet products. The first step was ensuring that the original products customers already knew could continue to be produced. Original Cascade components were reproduced, designs were revisited, and details were fine-tuned along the way. Rather than simply maintaining the existing catalog, Shawn also began looking for opportunities to improve and expand it. New products were designed and added to the Cascade Innovations lineup, while existing pieces continued to be refined. Some of the billet products available today remain closely tied to the original Cascade designs. Others have evolved over time, and entirely new products have joined the lineup as the company continues to develop new ideas. The goal wasn't to replace the history behind Cascade Innovations. It was to build upon it.

By combining Cascade's established product line with Top Dog Racing's mechanical background and decades of hands-on ATV experience, the family could continue what Cascade had started while taking the brand into its next chapter.

As our businesses continued to become more connected, maintaining two separate online stores began to make less and less sense. Both websites were ultimately serving customers from the same inventory, fulfilled by the same people, and shipped from the same building. So we decided to bring that experience together. The Top Dog Racing online store has been combined with CascadeInnovations.net, creating one larger online destination where customers can shop the products previously offered across both websites. For our longtime Top Dog Racing customers, this change doesn't mean Top Dog Racing is disappearing. Top Dog Racing is still Top Dog Racing. You'll still find the same family, the same staff, the same showroom, and the same products behind the name. We've simply made the online experience easier by bringing everything together in one place. For Cascade Innovations customers, it means access to a broader selection of aftermarket parts and products alongside the Cascade components you've come to know. Instead of navigating between two websites representing businesses that already operate together, customers can now shop through one large online superstore backed by both companies.
